We are in the final days of April, four months into a new year, and finally – FINALLY – I feel like our lives are back on track. I am not going to lie, this has been an unrelenting year filled with unexpected challenges and very big changes. We did not anticipate the hindrances, nor could we have predicted the difficulties endured. This past year forced us to pause, reevaluate, and alter our course as a little family of three. Did it set us back? Definitely. Did it break us? Absolutely not.
The fact that we survived this past year is commendable. We met the unexpected challenges and we surpassed them. It is a testament to our family bond and the [deeply appreciated] support we received from loved ones near and far. I consider ourselves blessed, regardless of the challenging year we endured, because we made it through. We persevered. We are stronger and [hopefully] wiser. We may have lost a round or two, but we did not lose the fight. In addition to that, we have our health, we have each other, and we have the love of family and friends. This, for me, is what really matters in life. Everything else is icing.
But … who doesn’t like icing, right?
As we enter into the month of May, as buds come alive on trees, songbirds sing, and flowers bloom, I too, feel reborn. I am awakened, effervescing with energy. I have a new sense of direction, a stronger feeling of self worth, and a fresh, exciting, new path to walk. It is rather serendipitous – how I came to be at this moment and on this new adventure – and I am pinching myself. It took months to get to this moment in time, but I have arrived, and I am ready!
Change is a powerful force. Whether it is put upon us or made by choice, it will always present as an opportunity to grow, evolve, and transform. Change can present as an adventure. And, my friends, it was – is – time for a new adventure.
What will your new adventure be?
